Axis of Logic Reporting from the Heart of the Revolution

VSC are very pleased that our good friend and comrade, Les Blough, is presently living in Venezuela and will be reporting regularly. We will continue to promote his ongoing reports and I am sure he would like to receive comments and questions from readers and supporters.

Some readers may have noticed my absence during the last 4-6 weeks. During this period of absence from Axis of Logic, I have relocated in Latin America for an extended period of time to conduct research, write and to accept an offer to embark on a speaking tour. I will be examining the Bolivarian process here in greater detail than ever before and traveling in key Latin American countries to explore the continuing political movements here. With the re-election of President Hugo Chavez Frias in Venezuela last December and the elections of Evo Morales in Bolivia, Rafael Correa in Ecuador, Daniel Ortega in Nicaragua and social/political resurgence “from the bottom” in other countries, we believe it is of vital importance to observe and report on these phenomena directly. Meanwhile, Axis of Logic remains an international website in every sense of the term. Our essayists and news correspondents will continue to publish from 7 different countries and regions of the world on current events with their excellent social/political news reports and commentary. It is also important for us to restate our view that the resistance movements in Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine pay the ultimate sacrifice every day on the military front of the New World Revolution.

This endeavor has been made possible by the generous material and non-material support of my family, Axis of Logic readers and the great volunteer staff at Axis of Logic. We are particularly grateful for the financial donations of readers and the good work of my co-editor, Paul Richard Harris and other Axis of Logic publishers and correspondents. We also wish to express our thanks to Axis of Logic readers who have been so patient during this transition.

We now renew our pledge to bring information to our readership directly from the heart of the revolution here in Latin America. In coming days and weeks we will be reporting on a regular basis about the successes and problems occurring in the great shift to the Left from the neo-liberal policies inflicted on our Southern Neighbors by the U.S.-led Global Corporate Empire. We have also been invited to speak in various venues about related international relations. Yesterday, I had the privilege of being interviewed on radio and television, followed by an invitation to speak at a cultural center on October 10. In the interviews yesterday, the themes of interest were centered around perceptions of the people in the United States about changes currently taking place in Latin America. Also, there were a number of questions about changes taking place among the people inside U.S. borders. Just as important as speaking in larger venues like these has been the opportunity to conduct interviews and converse with the extraordinary individuals here, supported by new governments that are intent on continuing empowerment of the people – the real engine of the revolution.

We are also looking forward to refreshing changes in the making for a new appearance of this website replete with new emphases, development of a broader reach and new tools for interactions with our readers. We welcome all readers to write to us with comments, questions and critiques that you may have for us and for individuals living here about your related interests and concerns. We thank each and everyone of you for your loyalty to this website as your source of news and information. Axis of Logic continues to be based in Boston, Massachusetts in the United States.
